This photograph was taken from in front of the Linder Block at 1215 Washington Avenue.  It looks northwest towards the intersection of 12th Street and Washington Avenue.  Building with the ornate balcony is the Garbareno House hotel (future Avenue Hotel).  Building under construction at the far left is the Everett Block.  Across 12th Street topped with the wooden mansard third floor is the Loveland Block (first of two buildings by that name, built 1863).  1873 was the greatest per capita building boom year in Golden's history.
