This view looks up present-day 13th Street towards the southwest and Lookout Mountain from what would today be Washington Avenue standing in front of the Foss Block.  The four buildings pictured are, from left:  the Golden House hotel (1870-78, present Armory location); Calvary Episcopal Church (built 1867, only building in photo still standing); the South School (under construction, existed 1873-1962 at approxate location of the southwest corner of 13th and Cheyenne Streets) and the Sancomb Building (today's location of the northern 1/3rd of the Foss Block, built 1867 by Silas W. Fisher and second store building of controversial businesswoman Hattie Sancomb; destroyed 1910).
