This aerial view shows the valley of Red Rocks between the hogback ridge and foothills prior to development of the 20th Century.  At center are the formations of what is now the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, fully converted to such use during the 1930s-40s by the Denver Mountain Parks.
