This photograph is one of the earliest views taken of what is now the 12th Street Historic District, looking north from approximately 13th and Cheyenne Streets.  The four homes in foreground, from left, are the French House (built around 1876); second and oldest remaining home of George West (built 1871); the home of prominent contractor John H. Parsons (built 1871); and a speculation home built by George West (built 1873).
