"Golden looking so. west" - 331
Goosetown
Circa 1900
Here the photographer looks southwest over the Golden valley sometime during
the early 20th Century. In the foreground is the remaining half of the
Colorado Central Railroad Roundhouse (1870-1927), of which the foundation
still remains. Also in the foreground is Goosetown, Golden's historic
German district. Vantage point is from the present-day location of Highway
58 above Depot Street in eastern Golden. Lookout Mountain is in the
background, along with much of early 20th Century Golden.
