"Brickyard Near Golden" - 333a
Ruins of Golden Pressed Brick Works
Circa 1895
This photograph shows the ruins of the Golden Pressed Brick Works after their
destruction by fire in 1895. This complex, the second-largest brick
manufacturing facility in Golden's history, stood at the present location
of Briarwood Commons at the west end of 8th Street. The works were established
by Fischer and Rudolph Koenig in 1873 and its product was used to build many
buildings in this region.
