Hall of Chemistry
Circa 1900
Pictured here is the first building of the Colorado School of Mines on its
present campus, and second overall in the institution's existence. The
Hall of Chemistry's original building (far left) was built in 1880, with Gothic
second wing (central portion) built in 1882, and Richardsonian Romanesque
third wing (the Executive Building, far right) built in 1890. The Hall
of Chemistry stood across the landscaped oval from the Hall of Engineering
until 1958, when it was demolished and replaced by Hill Hall.
