Looking west from what is now Kafadar Commons, this photo shows the western Mines campus in the early 20th Century.  At left is Guggenheim Hall (built in 1905, designed by James Murdoch).  At right is the Gymnasium (1908-60s).  In background is Mt. Zion, with Mines' Big M emblem (1908, designed by Joseph F. O'Byrne) and Lariat Loop.
